Broad Orientation

Here is our ‘welcome to Germany’ geography crash-course.

We’ll walk you through it, don’t worry…

Bremen in Germany in Europe

-

Let us zoom in a little…

Bremen in Northern Germany

-

We’re getting closer…

You can see that the Jacobs Campus is not really in Bremen, but in Bremen Nord. The words you might want to remember besides are Vegesack (the hub of real civilization in otherwise residential Bremen Nord; it has a mall for all kinds of shopping desires! ) and Schönebeck (name of the only train station you need to know besides of course downtown Bremen Hauptbahnhof = Bremen Main Station)

Alright, let us get acquainted with our Immediate Surroundings up here in Bremen Nord. Jacobs Campus is circled in purple. The way to walk to the train station (walking is the only alternative – it’s ridiculously close) and to the mall in Vegesack (bus is an alternative, we’ll come to that) is indicated. Note: There are plenty of parks and the Lesum shoreline right in the south to go jogging or do whatever you like in nature.

Good, now that we have a feeling for the topography, let us go abstract. If you want to check out what you just saw as an interactive map, click here!
