Hello everyone,
We are Daniel, Denitsa, Gesche, Ola, Romina. We don’t expect you to remember our names. As long as you come here, you will get to know us for sure
This blog aims to help you go through the confusion and cultural misunderstandings that you might face in the beginning and actually see how cool it is to be a part of the diverse and multicultural place that is Jacobs University Bremen!!!

We have prepared a lot of interesting and informing links for you and all you have to do right now is use them. Whenever you feel confused about this site, click on Sitemap. There you get all the categories and also explanations as to what information they contain. Also, do check out the download box at the right side of the screen, you will find both documents useful. You can also use the “Categories” on the right side of the screen for easy navigation through the site.
We sincerely hope that you will have a splendid time at Jacobs and we are confident that this blog will make a humble contribution to your quick transition and integration in your new environment. We believe that this webblog has something valuable to offer in all aspects and dimensions. So jump in to Jacobs – and the best place to begin this is right here: Jacobs for Beginners! We will walk you through the experience, so relax, lean back and grab hold of your mouse – Jacobs for Beginners takes care of the rest!
Dear Daniel, Denitsa, Gesche, Ola, Romina,
Thank you very much for inviting me to view your very promising site! I very much like this Jacobs introduction above and the choice of the inviting picture. Also your introduction to the Indian CID film is very nice!
I am well aware that this is work in progress at the moment and that the content is not final yet so just see the following comments as general and not a specific critique to your site.
The Malaysia and Bremen content has not had any introduction to it, thus it is not that aparent for the user how it will help students with transition to Jacobs. The more personal you become, the better (e.g., one of you could share your own experiences on organizing such a CID, you could comment on your favorite places in Bremen – was it easy or confusing for you to find your way around the city). Also, I’m sure that you still want to work on a kind of site-map or general introduction on how your site is built up or how you would suggest your users to navigate through the contents as the titles on the right hand side are not too explicit about it yet.
As I said, these are comments are just general in nature and not a critique: )
I’m very excited about your project and think that the freshmen will have a great treat if they get to see it one day: )
Many greetings, Amina

“Saluton al vi gestudentoj de Jacobs Universato kaj helpantoj por cxiujn vojosercxonton.
Por la enlogxantojn de Esperantolando, kiel mi, estas unu demando tre grava: cxu vi havas Esperanto-Klubo?
Goliardo”
“Hello you students of Jacobs University and helpers of those looking for orientation. For the inhabitants of Esperanto-land (esperanto term for the whole world; editorial comment) like myself there is one very important question: Do you have an esperanto club?”
“Dear Goliardo, unfortunately I have to tell you that there is no esperanto club at Jacobs University, though I agree that it would be the kind of place where this would be appropriate. To be realistic, though, I do not see it happening in the near future either, simply because as far as I know we do not have esperanto speaking students at our university. However, English pretty much does the trick for us, communication works just fine:)”

Hey there,
Although the blog’s layout is following the standard WordPress approach I really like the colors you have chosen.
Very convenient and good looking (actually I think the Jacobs website should think about changing their colors…. it’s kinda boring, don’t you think?
)!
Just one thing – you should be aware that the LDAP people search or Campusnet is not available from outside the university’s network…
Cheers,
Janis
